In October 2011 our little group: Sonia, Craig, Wendy and Richard visited Bolivia. We left Puno in Peru by bus to Cococabana in Bolivia. After the usual border form-filling and stamps, and a guided visit to the church in which the ‘Black Madonna’ resides, we boarded a cruise boat, a large catamaran, to Sun Island on the Bolivian side of the lake.
A Radio National discussion (May 29 2015) stated that statistically girls outperform boys academically and referenced research suggesting that this has something to do with working parents:
Provocative new research suggests that the outcomes for girls and boys can be different when parents go back to work, in particular mothers.

A recent wall street journal article 'The Last Carbon Taxer' has 'gone viral' and is now making the email rounds click here... to see a copy on this site. The following comments are also interesting; reflecting both sides of the present debate in Australia.
As the subject article points out, contrary to present assertions, a domestic carbon tax in Australia will neither do much to reduce the carbon impact on world climate, if implemented, nor make a significant contribution, if not implemented.
